Sumit is a registered professional engineer in the province of Alberta (APEGA) and in the province of Ontario (PEO), Canada. He is a registered life member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE). Sumit holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a diploma in Petroleum Refining & Technology from the Indian Institute of Petroleum.

Sumit has presented various technical papers in international symposiums like GPSA and published engineering articles in leading magazines like Hydrocarbon Processing.

Sumit has more than 25 years of diverse process engineering experience in areas of refining, gas processing, petrochemicals, pipeline, utilities and off-sites, SAGD, CSS, heavy oil upgrading, gasification and wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). His portfolio of projects cover conceptual studies, design basis memorandum (DBM), front end engineering design, basic/detailed engineering, debottlenecking and sustaining capital type projects in overall process lead and area lead capacities, for both greenfield and brownfield jobs.

Sumit has a strong process engineering and multi-discipline technical base with a good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of other engineering disciplines and projects. Sumit is proficient in managing project scope, cost and schedule, in a multi-disciplined organizational environment, delivering successful projects from developing user requirements, scope definition leading to conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning and start-up support. His supervisory activities included scope definition, interpretation, organization, execution, quality control and coordination of process engineering activities for major commercial scale units in a multi-projects and multi-national environment. He supports PEM, QA manager and other discipline leading to ensure quality and process deliverables in time.
